This program is the second in a three part series that features yoga teacher David Swenson, instructing the student in the discipline of Ashtanga Yoga. Ashtanga Yoga, which is sometimes referred to as Power Yoga, is a practice that entails the continuous movement from one asana to the next, until the set is completed. Swenson places particular emphasis on the importance of observing and controlling the breath. This in turn affects the physical, mental, and emotional states of the yoga practitioner. Swenson leads the student through the regimen while providing clear and simple commentary on how to derive the most benefit from this yoga technique.
Ashtanga Yoga is best learned under the guidance of a qualified instructor. This program is designed as an aid to those who have already learned the sequence from a teacher.
